Department Of Surgery
The dept. of Surgery has been functioning since inception of hospital and has grown exponentially with passage of time. The dept. has kept pace with newer technologies, procedures.
All major/minor surgeries like Cholecystectomy, Hernia, Renal Stones, Prostate, Appendectomy, cancer of stomach, colon, pancreas etc. are performed. Many of the above surgeries are done Laparoscopically. In specialties, head injuries/brain tumors, spinal surgery, skin grafting, neonatal surgeries, congenital defects like TOF, impentrate anus, Hirsch-including spinning disease are commonly operated. Various Thoracic procedures like decortication etc. alongwith vascular bypass etc. are done under CTVS. Recently Laser Endosurgery for varicose veins was also performed.
The department has facilities to cater to all emergency and planned operations 24 X 7. The Emergency admissions from our large 28 bedded casualty are run by Senior & Junior Residents under supervision of SR/Consultant on call.Subsidised beds are available so that no patient is denied surgery for economic reason.
